From an early age, Sukhwinder Singh has had a taste for singing. Sukhwinder Singh rose to mass popularity for his song “Chaiyya Chaiyya” from the movie ‘Dil Se’. This song gave him the “Best Male Playback” at the 1999 Filmfare Awards. Apart from this, Sukhwinder Singh has sung songs like ‘Jai Ho’, ‘Chak De India’, ‘Haule Haule’ and more. Sukhwinder Singh has sung songs for Salman Khan, Shahrukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgan, Anil Kapoor, Sunny Deol and many other actors. The song “Jai Ho“, sung by Sukhwinder Singh, composed by A. R. Rahman, and written by Gulzar won an Oscar: Academy Award for Best Original Song.

It also won the Grammy Award for Best Song Written for a Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media in 2010.
